We are keeping our neighbors housed.

The Treasure Valley is facing a housing crisis. The overall cost of living is putting our residents at risk, and many households are only one financial emergency away from losing their homes.

Help us prevent the traumatic, life-altering experience of eviction and homelessness.

Ways to Give

Explore our services.

We provide more than just a rent check. Jesse Tree prevents eviction and homelessness by providing tenants with skills and resources to maintain long-term housing stability.

Emergency Rental Assistance

The ERA Program is designed to help tenants with a legal eviction notice catch up on rent, avoid an eviction judgement, and remain in their rental unit. The program is case management centric, with a focus on creating an actionable plan for long-term financial stability. Additionally, tenants may qualify for a limited amount of rental assistance. Learn more here.

Case Management

Our case management service includes landlord mediation, budgeting education, and housing stability planning. Tenants are given the tools and knowledge they need to stay housed long-term. Statewide data shows that 95% of Jesse Tree clients do not get evicted and are able to remain housed over a five-year period. Learn more here.

Tenant Resource Center

Jesse Tree’s Tenant Resource Center offers essential support for tenants, including practical tips for avoiding eviction, education on Idaho’s eviction process, referrals to local resources, and various downloadable materials. Jesse Tree’s Tenant Resource Center is primarily staffed by volunteers. Find out more about how the Tenant Resource Center can help here.

Eviction Court

Jesse Tree offers tenants in eviction court with guidance and support during the court process. This includes providing limited rental assistance, helping tenants understand their rights, mediating agreements with landlords, and offering resources. Jesse Tree maintains a close partnership with Ada County Court and is involved in every case. In Canyon County, Jesse Tree offers pre-court mediation services. Learn more here.

Why Prevention?

We firmly believe prevention is the most impactful, cost-effective way to address rising homeless rates.

100+ families supported monthly

Each month, Jesse Tree provides 100+ families who are at risk of eviction and homelessness with financial assistance and case management. With current funding and resources, Jesse Tree is able to support 33% of those in need.

95% of tenants remain housed long-term

Tracking tenant data up to five years post-assistance, 95% remain stably housed long-term. This demonstrates the strong sustainability of Jesse Tree’s eviction prevention efforts.

It costs $2,000 to keep a family housed

It costs Jesse Tree approximately $2,000 to keep a family in their current housing, helping them avoid homelessness. By contrast, getting a family out of homelessness costs an average of $20,000 and can take up to two years.

Donate
