The Faces Behind the Foundation

Our team works behind the scenes and in the community to raise funds, build relationships, coordinate events, support programs, and connect generous donors with meaningful opportunities to make a difference.

We work closely with the Nampa Family Justice Center and its partner agencies, but the Foundation is an independent nonprofit with its own mission, team, and responsibilities.

Our Board of Directors

Our Foundation Board is made up of dedicated community leaders who guide the mission, strategy, and growth of the Family Justice Center Foundation of Idaho. Together, they ensure that the Foundation has the resources to sustain vital programs, and provide ongoing support for survivors and their families.

The Faces Behind the Foundation

Behind the Family Justice Center Foundation is a powerhouse team of people who deeply believe in the mission and values of the Nampa Family Justice Center.

Each person brings unique skills, perspectives, and talents to the table, united by a shared commitment to supporting survivors and strengthening families.

Together, we collaborate with purpose, lead with heart, and show up every day ready to make a meaningful impact in our community.

"Our mission is to promote safety, self-sufficiency, hope, and healing for those affected by abuse."

Jeannie Strohmeyer - Executive Director, Nampa Family Justice Center

Jeannie leads the Nampa Family Justice Center with compassion and vision. She oversees the day-to-day coordination of services, ensuring that every survivor who walks through the doors receives care, advocacy, and a path toward healing.

Her leadership bridges community partners, law enforcement, and support services to create a truly collaborative space of hope.

Tell us a little bit about your connection to the Nampa Family Justice Center.

My connection to the Nampa Family Justice Center began personally. I came to the Center during a difficult time in my own life. My therapy led me here and provided education and support that became an important part of my healing. I participated in Trauma 101, Making Sense of Your Worth, and Boundaries, and eventually became involved with Idaho Voices. Over time, my connection to the Center grew from receiving support to finding ways I could give back. Today, I have the privilege of serving on the board, mentoring and supporting other women in the Trauma 101 class, mentoring at the Restore Hope Retreat, and helping share the mission of a place that has meant so much to me.

What drew you to join the board?

I had already become very involved with the Center, and when the opportunity to join the board came up, it felt like a natural next step. I also knew I could bring a perspective to the table that was a little different. I'm a local business owner, I've spent many years working in our community, and I also understand the Center from the perspective of someone who has personally benefited from its services.

I wanted to use both of those experiences to help strengthen something I deeply believe in. Serving on the board gives me an opportunity to help connect people in our community to the mission, advocate for the work being done, and hopefully help make sure these resources continue to be available for the next person who needs them.

In your own words, what would you say is the main mission or purpose of the board?

To me, the board's purpose is to help protect, support, and strengthen the mission of the Nampa Family Justice Center so the people doing this work have the resources they need to serve our community.

That includes stewardship, fundraising, advocacy, community relationships, and helping create long-term sustainability. I think one of our biggest responsibilities is making sure that when someone reaches out for help, the resources are there. We may never know that person's name or story, and that's okay. Our job is to help make sure the door is there when they need to walk through it.

How long have you been part of Idaho Voices?

I've been part of Idaho Voices for 2.5 years, and it has become an incredibly meaningful part of my journey with the Center.

For people who don't know about Idaho Voices, tell us a little bit about the group and your experience since joining.

Voices provides an opportunity for survivors to use their lived experiences to educate, encourage, and create change. What I appreciate most is that our stories don't have to define us, but they can become something useful.

For me, being part of Voices has been empowering. I've had opportunities to speak at many things: probation and parole panels, support walks, Galas, advocate trainings, connecting with others, and using pieces of my own experience in ways that might help someone else feel less alone or help our community better understand the impact of this work.

I've learned that I can't walk another person's path for them, and I certainly can't fix it for them. But I can walk beside them for a while, share what I've learned, and maybe hold a little light while they find their own way forward.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

When I'm not working or volunteering, my favorite thing is spending time with my husband, Justin, our kids, and our grandkids. Family is a huge part of my life.

We love spending time at our home in the mountains, where life slows down a little. Give me time on the deck, a walk, a bike ride, family and friends around the table, and I'm pretty happy. I also love traveling, especially escaping to Mexico. Sunshine, water, and a quiet morning with coffee are hard to beat!

I own Adventure Property Management in Nampa, so even though I wouldn't exactly call running a business a “hobby,” I've been fortunate to build a career I love in the community where I was born and raised.
