- Board
- level diagnosis, not just part swapping
- Microscope
- and hot air, not a screwdriver kit
- Honest
- about what is and is not worth it
- Data first
- recovery comes before repair when it matters
The repairs a parts swap cannot fix.
- 01
Charging and power faults
Devices that will not charge, will not turn on, or drain in an hour. Charging ICs, power management and the components around them diagnosed and replaced.
- 02
Connectors and ports
Ripped-off charging ports, battery connectors and display connectors re-soldered or replaced on the board.
- 03
Shorts and liquid damage
Corrosion cleaned, shorted components found with a thermal camera and replaced, boards cleaned ultrasonically.
- 04
Laptops
MacBook and PC laptop boards: no power, no display, keyboard and trackpad faults, liquid spills.
- 05
Game consoles
HDMI ports, power faults and liquid damage on consoles that the manufacturer says are not repairable.
- 06
Data recovery attempts
Getting the device to boot long enough to copy the data, or moving storage to a working board, when the photos matter more than the phone.
Diagnosis first, always.
- 1
Intake
What happened, what it does now, what matters most: the device or the data. That answer changes the plan.
- 2
Diagnose
Power analysis, thermal imaging and a microscope. You get a written finding and an estimate, including when the honest answer is "replace it".
- 3
Repair
Microsoldering under the microscope, components sourced, board cleaned and tested on the bench.
- 4
Test and return
Full function test, data verified where recovery was the goal, and a note of exactly what was done.
Bring it to us when...
A shop said "it needs a new board"
Often it needs one component on the board.
The photos are on a phone that will not turn on
Data recovery is a board repair with a different goal.
It is out of warranty and worth keeping
A board repair can be a fraction of a replacement.
It is a business device with work on it
Clients send these through the help desk with the chain of custody logged.
Questions people ask.
Is a diagnosis free?
Diagnosis is quoted as its own step so you know the cost before we open the device. If you go ahead with the repair, we tell you how the diagnosis fee is treated.
Can you guarantee data recovery?
No. Nobody honest can. We tell you the odds after diagnosis and we stop if the risk to the data outweighs the chance.
What brands do you work on?
Apple, most PC laptops, Android phones and the main game consoles. Ask about anything else.
How long does board work take?
Longer than a screen. Parts may need ordering. The estimate includes a time, and we update you if it changes.
Is this Apple-authorized?
No. ALCO is an independent repair service. Board-level repair is not something authorized channels offer; a replacement is.
