What is included.
What ALCO does for you under Vaultwarden hosting, in plain terms.
Works with the apps people know
The Bitwarden browser extensions, desktop and mobile apps point at your server. Nothing new to learn.
Organisations and collections
Shared vaults for teams, with collections per department or client and permissions that match how you work.
Your vault, on your server
End-to-end encrypted by the apps; the server never sees a password in the clear. The server itself is on ALCO infrastructure in Idaho.
Two-step sign-in, required
Authenticator app or hardware key for every account, enforced at the server.
Encrypted backups
Nightly, encrypted, off the server. The restore has been tested.
Joiners and leavers
New hire gets a vault and the right collections on day one. A leaver is removed everywhere the same day, with shared passwords rotated.
Updates by ALCO
Vaultwarden releases applied promptly, with the admin panel locked down and every change logged.
People who answer
"I am locked out." A person verifies it is you, then helps.
How it works.
Four steps, each one written down as we go.
- 1
Scope
We look at what you run today, how much traffic and data it carries, and who needs access. You get a written plan and price before anything moves.
- 2
Build
We stand up Vaultwarden on the ALCO server, in its own isolated environment, with Cloudflare Enterprise, backups and monitoring wired in from day one.
- 3
Move
Existing data, users and settings are migrated and checked, DNS is switched in a window you approve, and the old system stays available until you sign off.
- 4
Run it
From then on ALCO applies updates, watches the board, restores from backup when asked and answers the calls.
Who this is for.
Businesses that want it run, not just rented
A server somewhere is easy. Someone who updates it, backs it up, watches it and picks up the phone is the part you are buying.
Teams that have outgrown shared hosting
When the shared plan is slow, the control panel is a mystery and support is a chat bot, a managed instance on the ALCO server is the next step.
Anyone who wants their data in one accountable place
Your instance, your data, on infrastructure ALCO owns and operates in Idaho, behind Cloudflare Enterprise.
Questions people ask.
Is Vaultwarden the same as Bitwarden?
Vaultwarden is an independent, open-source server that speaks the Bitwarden API, so the official Bitwarden apps and extensions work with it. It is not made or supported by Bitwarden, Inc.; ALCO supports it for you.
Can ALCO see our passwords?
No. Vaults are encrypted by the apps with your master password before they reach the server. ALCO runs the server and holds encrypted backups.
Why not just use 1Password?
Many clients do, and ALCO is a 1Password partner. Vaultwarden is for organisations that want the vault on their own infrastructure or need to control the cost per seat.
What happens if the server is down?
The apps keep a local copy of the vault, so you can still read passwords. We monitor it every minute and fix it.
- The client area
Everything ALCO does for you, in one place.
Requests, your team, invoices, documents, shared credentials and sign-in security. One sign-in, any device. Take the tour.
