What Twilio is.
Twilio is a communications platform for software: text messages, voice calls and verification codes sent through an API.
Twilio Verify is the piece that sends a one-time code to a phone and checks the reply, the same mechanism banks and large apps rely on.

Phone two-step in myALCO
Sign-in to myALCO uses email codes by default. When you add your phone as a second method, Twilio Verify sends the code and confirms it.

Where a client wants an alert by text rather than email, ALCO systems send it through Twilio.

The integration is our own code, running on our infrastructure, with every send logged. Twilio carries the message; it does not see your account.
