Hardware and licensing

About this service
Are you cheaper than buying online?

Sometimes, not always. Our prices are competitive and the quote includes setup, warranty handling and tracking, which is where the real cost of buying online hides. When a retailer is clearly the better deal we tell you.

Can you buy our Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace licences?

Yes. Both can be supplied through ALCO and managed with the tenant, or we can manage licences you already own. Either way the count is reviewed monthly.

Do we have to be a managed client?

No. We quote hardware and licences for anyone. Managed clients get the setup and tracking included in their plan.

What if something arrives faulty?

Tell the help desk. We handle the warranty claim or return and get a replacement moving. You do not sit on hold with a manufacturer.

Can you help us budget for next year?

Yes. Purchase and warranty dates feed a lifecycle plan, and the IT consulting page covers the full annual budget.

IT consulting and vCIO

About this service
Is this just a way to sell us more ALCO services?

The advice is separated from the selling on purpose. Recommendations come with options and costs, you decide, and the work can go anywhere. We have told clients to buy less from us more than once.

How much time does it take from us?

A few hours at the start, then about an hour a quarter for the review, plus the occasional call when a decision comes up.

Do we need a help desk plan with you for this?

No. vCIO stands alone. It does pair well with the help desk, because the people answering the phone are the same ones who know the plan.

Can you review a contract a vendor sent us?

Yes. Software, telecom, hosting, copier leases. We read it, tell you what it really commits you to, and what to push back on.

What does a quarterly review look like?

A short written pack a few days before, then an hour together: service numbers, spend against budget, risks, upcoming renewals and the decisions we need from you.

Telarus and ALCO

About this service
Does going through ALCO cost more than buying direct?

Normally no. In the advisor model the provider pays the advisor, so pricing is usually the same as buying direct, and you get help choosing and support afterwards.

Do we have to switch providers?

No. Sometimes the best answer is to keep what you have and fix the contract or the setup. We will say so.

Who do we call if the service goes down?

Call ALCO. We open the ticket with the provider and follow it through.

Ask about buying technology.

Did not find your answer? Tell us what you need. A person replies, usually the same business day.
